Dr Atul Mathur is a renowned Cardiologist and the Director of the Department of Interventional Cardiology at the Fortis Escort Heart Institute, New Delhi. A pioneer in the field of Coronary & Vascular Interventions in the Asia-Pacific, he is an expert in Aortic Stent Grafting, Carotid Stenting, IVC Filter Placement, Peripheral Vascular Stenting, Venous Interventions, and more. He has performed about 10,000 Angiograms, 3,500 Coronary Interventions, and 350 Peripheral Interventions, including Carotid Stenting. Dr Atul Mathur pursued his MBBS & MD from the SMS College in Jaipur, and DM in Cardiology from AIIMS in New Delhi. He specializes Structural Heart Interventions, such as, Balloon Valvotomies, Acquired VSD Closures, & LAA Appendage Closures. As a committed doctor, Dr Atul Mathur cardiologist regularly undergoes wide training programs at various centers and attends many seminars & conferences on cardiology. He also trains and inspires budding interventional cardiologists. Prior to joining the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Dr Atul was associated with other prestigious institutions including AIIMS New Delhi and the University of Alabama Hospital (Birmingham, USA). Dr. Atul Mathur has the credit of performing the first Carotid Stenting Procedure in India in the year 1999, and using the first Cerebral Protection Device in India in 2002 at the Escorts Heart Institute. With over 150 publications & 10 chapters in books, he is regularly invited as a guest faculty and he has performed live case demonstrations at various national & international conferences.
